New Muslim Cool takes viewers on Puerto Rican American rapper Hamza Perez’s ride through the streets, projects, and jail cells of urban America, following his spiritual journey to some surprising places – where we can all see ourselves reflected in a world that never stops changing. Discussion with the director and Su’ad Abdul Khabeer, Senior Project Advisor for the film, following the screening. Jennifer Maytorena, 86 min., English, 2009, USA. Lit Moon Theatre celebrates its 18th birthday with peview performances of its new show, Nils Holgersson and the Wild Geese. Charmed by an elf, the ne’er-do-well Nils flies toward Lapland on the back of a goose…

The Saturday, June 5, performance will be followed by a birthday party at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1500 State Street.

Come celebrate Lit Moon’s 18th season of making theatre in Santa Barbara, and support the company’s 2010 season, which includes the Lit Moon World Theater Festival, September 10-19, 2010.
